Tim Mannix was the reserve hooker for Norm Hewitt for every Hurricanes match in 1996 and the only player not to make an appearance. However Mannix’s contribution to the side off the field was invaluable, proving himself as an outstanding team member with his training ethic and support.
Mannix was also the Wellington Lions hooker for seven years and played 82 matches for Wellington between 1989-1996.
The older brother of All Blacks first five-eighth Simon Mannix, Tim Mannix made the New Zealand XV side in 1993 and spent several off-seasons playing in Ireland.
He spent four years up to the start of 2008 as the WRFU Rugby Development Officer and as the Coaching Coordinator at the Petone rugby club in Wellington. A specialist forwards coach, he is also an IRANZ coach.
